My steps to splitting a snake plant from my balcony garden

So after a couple of hours of searching the Internet. I was ready and wanted to dive into it… or should we say divide into it.. split into it… part into it.. oh I think my jokes are just getting worse












So what you’ll need:

Over grown plant that's ready to burst out of it’s pot

Tools:

• Trowel
• Stones
• Pot

Stuff you need:

• Soil
• Water

You’ll want to take your potted plant and place on its side. Then gently tap the sides to loosen it from its pot. If you have a plastic pot, I’ve found if I gently squeezed the pot while it is on its side, it should loosen the plant from the pot, which makes it so much easier to take it out from its pot.
















Hold the plant at its base and hold it upside down. Try pulling off the pot from the plant. It should come off with no effort. If it does not, then try tapping its side again.












Once you have the plant out of its pot. You’ll want to loosen the roots from its tight bundle. Try to locate the bulb base of the stems.

Gently pull apart the whole stems from the bundle. Don’t tear it apart like a cave man but gently pull apart. This may take awhile but don’t forget to use care. You’re ripping apart a living thing.



























You should have 2 bundles now. You’ll want to place each bundle in its own pot.

Fill in with dirt so the plant is “Planted”. (I just crack myself up)

Water and you’re done! Good job.. now you have 2 plants instead of 1. Now what to do with 2 plants?
